ou forgot to make the owner be a monkey for you. Make the owner show you what the horse can do before you buy. I didnt and ended up on a ex track angelo arab who hadnt been ridden in a year, the owner lied to make him sound good but really he needed attention.

VERY cursory advice. Lift horse’s feet, watch owner’s interaction with the horse. Easy to catch, get the horse owner to catch horse from field with you there? Does the horse tie well? Does the horse respect the lead rope? Does the horse back up well? Is the horse respectful? Is the horse spooky, has it been sacked out well? Lunge the horse, wave hands around, ask horse to yield it’s hindquarters…how are the feet (symmetric, angle etc.)? Check for drooping lips, sign horse is drugged..etc. etc.

i would go with a week to two weeks so they can get use to another horses and get settled in and used to you before trying to ride

so what would u recommend as a godo time to let a horse settle inot a new paddock im getting my first horse tomorrow after noon hes coming from quite a long way over 4 hours away and i think 3 days is the minimume time u should let them settle in and a week if possible is the longest.

    Nope she’s around 10-12. She’s just fast..I’m pm’ing you about something now

people don’t trust their horses and I’m guessing your pony is a young one because of it’s energy

Any horse that I have ever ridden LOVES to jump. I think all horses do except very few don’t. I hate it when people pull but for example there is this pony at one of my barns that she is TOO fast so you have to keep a tight rein or else she will gallop off with you and I don’t want that. No problem I don’t get it why people do!

  21. Anonymous says:

Just correcting myself I said maybe because some horses really do love to jump and some people like you I’m guessing don’t pull every two seconds on the reins when you’re on your horse and thanks again for never cursing on here

  22. Anonymous says:

Bits are used everyday and western is not in the olypmics JUMPING is. So jumping isn’t bad nor are bits. And I will never curse anyone out on here.

  23. Anonymous says:

because I don’t think it’s a lovely video because it promotes two things that may be bad for horses like bits and jumping and if you think horseshoes are good they’re only good in rare occasions when the hoof is uneven and I appreciate you’re not a hypocrite like the rest including me that just cuss each other out

I know A TON about horse care, horse everything. Okay? But still why do you feel the need to come onto a lovely video and hate on it? DON’T WATCH IT IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT SIMPLE AS THAT. How mean are you to do that???

I don’t need you to tell me I try to find the best care for my horses and spread that to anyone I can and I recommend the website thinklikeahorse then .org to as many people as possible because this guy knows what he’s talking about and I get tired of people that don’t do research on at least horse care
